Chanty

Chanty is a 4 year old Yorkshire Terrier surrendered Sept 29/10 by her owner because of a move. Her new foster mom gives us the following details after having her in their home for about 4 days: Chanty has settled in well into our home. She is a delight! Here is some information we have learnt about her: -Chanty is very people orientated and will follow us around the house. -She does not respond to her name but does respond to tone of voice. -She is inquisitive and likes to explore our backyard. -Although her owner stated she barks when someone comes to the door, we have yet to hear her bark. (She does whine if left alone.) -She sleeps in her dog bed beside out bed during the night. -She gets along with our dog and our cats. -She tolerated having a bath but endured the experience by standing on her back legs and remaining rigid. -When out for a walk she can not be trusted off leash even when with a “pack”. (She enjoys a good run!) -She travels well in the vehicle although she does pant. -She is not nervous with new people but is very affectionate to everyone. (When we first got her she cringed when approached and did try to bite on one occasion however she has gotten over this completely.) -She is learning to do the 2 stairs leading to our back yard. -She is learning to walk with a halter type leash. -She is working on her house training. (She does not use the training pads she came with.) -She needs some dental work on her 2 fangs. (This will be done at her vet appointment which is scheduled in the next few days.) -She exhibits sexual behavior to her dog bed. Her spay is booked for October 14 and she'll be ready to go within days of that date. Our dog adoption fee is $160 which includes spay/neuter, shot, rabies shot and microchip.
