Two-and-a-half year old Champ is one handsome, lovable and thoroughly delightful Lab. At about 66 pounds, his weight is perfect. Champ came to us when his owner, who trained him to hunt pheasants, could no longer afford to keep him and left him at a shelter. A good friend to all, he left behind a family with folks both big and small.
Champ was very happy to be welcomed into his Safe Harbor foster home and his foster mom was eager to tell us all about him: "After getting a much needed bath, we could quickly see that Champ is a very handsome boy with a soft coat and beautiful brown eyes. He was a little timid at first learning what the bucket of water is for, how to manage stairs and checking out new people, but he catches on and warms up quickly once he feels safe. He is crate trained and housetrained, knows come, sit and down. Champ's favorite activities so far are playing fetch with a ball which he drops nicely at your feet and gnawing on his chew bone. He very much wants all the love and attention he can get and readily gives kisses. He takes his food and treats gently and gets along well with his foster sister. Champ loves to run and play and would fit in best with a moderately active family."
