My Story

Champ is a sweet five month old Australian Shepherd on Corgi legs mix. He was rescued from the South L.A shelter where he had been left by his owner. Due to a birth defect Champ is almost blind but he does not seem to know it! He loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home and is great with kids. He also enjoys short walks in the neighborhood. Champ would do best in a home where there is another dog and / or where someone is home for most of the day. He is a brave little guy who loves to follow his foster mom around and with her help learn new environments. He walks into every situation with his tail wagging just waiting to be the center of attention! Champ has seen an eye specialist and whereas there is nothing that can be done to improve his limited vision he will need to have annual follow up visits. He is crate trained and enjoys sleeping in his crate at night and also during the day when his foster mom is out. His disability does not affect his daily life and he is truly a joy to be with.
