She arrived to us from a breeding farm, so her future adopter should know that she will take time and patience to come around and adjust. She has enjoyed getting to run around with all her new dog-friends at the facility. She still at times will duck and run if she is approached too fast by humans, but she is more willing to be near people than she was when she arrived. She does startle easily, and once she finds a future home she will basically start from square one again and will need her future-adopter to be extremely understanding and compassionate towards her by giving her ample time and patience to decompress and settle in. Ceviche has a beautiful soft coat, and is the perfect size. She is a quiet and mellow dog and would love to be someone’s companion! Due to Ceviche’s nature of being shy and skittish, she would do best with another dog in the home to provide her with some comfort and help her gain confidence. Because of Ceviche’s shyness and unfamiliarity with many things, she also poses a flight risk so a fenced yard would be required to provide her with a safe space. You will want to go to our Resources Page and read the article regarding breeder releases. She will not walk on a leash. You will need to keep a leash on in the home for some time. She most likely has never lived in a home, so is not housebroken. I'm sure touch is similar to nails on a chalkboard for her. There is a 3-3-3 rule of adjustment in rescue. With a dog like her you will need to double, triple or more that. She may never be what you might consider a normal dog, or one that you will take to places. She will need another dog in the home and a fenced yard to get appropriate exercise. Please do not apply, if you do not meet these qualifications. She would not make a good child's pet. ADOPTION FEE: $750 To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION. Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six.
