My Story

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDAR/Dog Celine Dion, 3.5 years old, spayed female, Weimaraner/Mountain cur mix, 58 pounds. She is located in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved. Celine was saved from euthanasia at a county shelter in Houston. The shelter listed her as a Husky mix, but we see other breeds. We are taking our best guesses in terms of the breeds we listed, but imagine she is made up of other breeds too. Celine is a young and energetic pup still mastering the art of play. While she loves the idea of making new furry friends, her play style can be a bit intense. She did wonderfully with a very tolerant 75-pound husky, but her jumpy and in-your-face approach was too much for some of the other dogs. Celine is eager to play and, with a little more guidance, she's sure to become a well-mannered playmate. When it comes to playtime, Celine is all about high energy. She can romp around with the best of them but does settle down after a while. She's learning to pick up on cues from other dogs, though there are times when her husky friend had to be vocal to get her to stop. Celine has been exposed to dogs of various sizes but mainly played with larger ones. Meeting new dogs on walks has generally been positive for Celine. She pulls a little initially but calms down quickly. Her interactions on the leash are friendly and wagging tail without much excitement. After some basic manners training, she’s become quite good at walking alongside her foster siblings. We have no history with cats. Celine loves people and has done well with a 12-year-old child in her foster home. She can be slightly jumpy, but with a few weeks of manners training, she has improved significantly. She would likely be best suited for a home with children over 5, ensuring a playful but safe environment for everyone. Celine is enthusiastic about walks, pulling a bit at first but settling into a loose leash stroll after a few minutes. She loves to sniff everything, showing her curious nature. She is fully housebroken, Celine has adapted well to being crated. Though she didn’t like the crate at first, she now goes in willingly for meals or treats and can stay crated for extended periods if needed. Celine has shown no issues with food aggression. There have been no problems with toys, bones, or treats. She’s also comfortable with people around her food. Celine would thrive in an active home with a yard and daily activities. She has a moderate to high energy level and would benefit from having another playful dog companion. However, she may also do well as the only pet in an active household. Celine is playful, silly, and curious. She loves playing with toys and is very affectionate. When meeting strangers, she shows no signs of fear and is generally calm. In the car, she can be a bit nervous and may pant, but with more car rides, she’s likely to get more comfortable. Celine is a loving and spirited dog looking for an active home where she can continue to learn and grow. With her playful personality and eager-to-please attitude, she’s sure to bring joy and laughter to her forever family. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him?
