My Story

WATCH my video!

This is Casey - a very happy friendly dog. He is an adult male neutered Collie/German Shepherd mix, about 7 years old. He is in need of a new home after his original owner was hospitalized and no longer able to care for him.

He gets along very well with other dogs and loves all sizes of people too. :) Cats on the other hand he doesn’t really understand... he chases them and they make him very anxious, so he would probably do best in a home without cats. He loves kids and loves to play, but sometimes gets excited and knocks small children over. He could learn not to do that, however, with a little training.

He loves to ride in the car and play with other dogs. He is a great family dog. He is full of energy and needs a lot of exercise. He is housebroken. He does have separation anxiety, which is currently very well controlled in his current foster home. He has had some anxiety issues in the past, and did not do well in a home where he was left alone for several hours at a time. He has since started separation anxiety medication, which he did very well on, and did not have any anxiety episodes since starting it. He is now off the medication and still doing well. He is currently in a home with another dog where he can also get a lot of exercise being outside to run and play when no one is home. This made a huge difference for his anxiety. He is very well behaved in the house as long as someone is home. His ideal home would be a place where he could be with people or another dog all of the time and have lots of opportunity to run and exercise.
