Hiya!! My name is Carla and here's more info about me:
PHYSICAL INFO:
Breed: Mixed Lab
Age: approx. 1 year
Gender: Female
Weight: 55 lbs (25 kg) (but might still grow a bit!)
Length (nose to butt): 84cm
Height (paws to top of head): 58cm
Current Location: Mexico City, Mexico
RESCUE STORY - My rescuers found me and my siblings on the streets of Mexico. We were incredibly young and were all alone, no mama to be found. We were very skinny and malnourished by the time we were rescued. You can learn more about our heartbreaking rescue by watching this video. Thank goodness we were rescued!! I've been living at my rescuers home ever since and am awaiting my chance to come to my forever home in the Pacific North West. Have you seen how ADORABLE my latest pics are?! I mean come on... look at me!!
TEMPERAMENT - Since I'm a young gal, I have a healthy amount of energy and love to play! I am so eager for love and affection (video). I am looking for a patient, loving family who is ready for "all things puppy" - hoomans who are open to working with timiditiy, potential play nipping, high energy, housetraining and leash skills. I promise to repay you with loads of cuddles, kisses and tail wags!
Me and my siblings live at a foster home in the countryside. We get to go on walks where it is nice and quiet, so when we occasionally go into the city or busier neighbourhoods, we can be a bit timid/skittish. If I'm adopted by hoomans who live in the city, I'll just need some extra patience and love while I desensitize to the loud noises of city life.
July 2024 Update - I have been making some trips into the city where I meet new humans (video), kiddos (video), and go to the park (video, video, video, video)
ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate, classic young dogg-o energy. I play hard but I crash hard too!
GETS ALONG WITH:
Kids Yup! Here is a video of me meeting some children. This is another video of me meeting a little girl at the park.
same with ALL dogs, I should be supervised around children. My humans need to advocate for my space and make sure I'm respected :)
Dogs I'm used to other puppies but can adapt to bigger and older dogs. Here is a video of me with some doggos at the dog park and a video of me meeting other doggos on leash.
Cats Unknown
PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING:
Leash skills Work in progress. I can be more timid/skittish in louder, busier environments. My adopter must be willing to provide me with some training and lots of patience :)
House trained This is a work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and lots of positive reinforcement will help me learn good habits in my forever home.
Crate trained Not yet. I will need some training and patience.
Car rides I went on a road trip to the city for 1 hour and I got a bit car sick (lots of drool). I will likely need to be crated in the car or have some doggy Gravol before going on long trips. I'll likely get better with more exposure, but I'll just need my adopter to be patient with me :)
HEALTH NOTES:
I have been spayed (Sept 2023) and fully vaccinated.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE:
My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD ($750.00 + PST and GST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible.
