My Story

**Fostered in Burlington, WA and ready for meet & greets!** Hi! My name is Cara, which means friend, and thats exactly what I am. Gentle, perceptive, smart, affectionate, and loyalI am the perfect best friend! Im also gorgeous with my red brindle coat, cute speckled feet, and mesmerizing amber eyes. You wont see many dogs with markings like mine. I love to hang out and do whatever you want to do, whether thats going on an adventure, or cuddling up on the couch to watch your favorite show. Im very in-tune with my humans and know when you need extra cuddles, or when you need a little fun. Im a great listener and follow commands with ease. I just want to make my family happy. Im a smart girl who is already crate trained and potty trained. I also know multiple commands like sit and come, and I will wait to be released to eat my meals. Everyone comments on what great manners I have! Im currently working on learning shake and spin. Im a fast learner and treat motivated, making me easy to train. Training is a great way for us to bond! My foster family works outside the home, so I stay in my crate during the day while they are gone. Im always well behaved in my crate and dont show any signs of separation anxiety. At night, I can also sleep in my crate, but I prefer to snuggle up in the big bed with my foster parents and the other dogs. I currently live with 3 other dogs from 8 to 65 lbs and we all get along great. I also LOVE kids! Ive met kids as young as 3 and Im loving and respectful to them. Im pretty versatile, enjoying outdoor adventures like hiking, camping, and playing in the water, but also cuddling up in the home with my people and doggy friends. I have a great medium energy that can adjust for the situation. My foster family has taken me to the river and I have so much fun playing in the water there. Im currently 9 months old and 45 lbs. I probably wont be more than 50 lbs full grown. My sister had a DNA test done, so you can see the results in my photos. What matters most is that Im a great girl, an excellent friend, and ready to be your beloved new family member. My loyalty and devotion to you will not waver. I just want to be your pride and joy and spend the rest of my days in a loving family. My foster family thinks Im the best, but its time for me to have a forever home. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog youve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dogs needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesnt stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan Coupons for a fun visit to Petco Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
