Captain

AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY. Meet Captain! Captain is a 2 year old male chihuahua mix and he weighs about 13 pounds. Captain arrived in rescue after winding up at animal services and being heartworm positive. He has been treated and has done great! He is ready to find a forever family to call his own and his foster mom says: Captain is a funny, energetic, and gregarious pooch. He was a little hesitant when he first arrived in foster care, but quickly bonded once treats were rewarded! Although he gets along with dogs of all sizes, he plays happily with his foster sister who is of similar size, so he'd do well with an active dog of similar size and temperament. He's a little too curious about the cats, so, unless yours is dog-savvy, a feline-free home would be best. He's housebroken on a regular schedule and does extremely well on a harness with leash. He does bark occasionally at new people and strange noises, so no shared walls. He is not crated, as he is not destructive, and snuggles on our bed during the night. Due to his small size, he would do best with older kids. No small children or frail adults, as his enthusiasm may result in a tumble. Captain is loving and eager to please. Open your home and your heart to him and he will bring a smile to your face! Captain is neutered, up to date on vaccines, on flea and heartworm prevention, microchip and has had his teeth cleaned! Captain is fostered in the Flagler Beach area and his adoption donation is $300.
