My Story

Captain Goober came to us in bad shape. He had a very badly injured leg. We were lucky enough to get some funding from a special donor to the UF Small Animal Hospital and he was able to receive a very expensive and specialized surgery, and rehab to fix him. Captain was also very undersocialized with both humans and dogs. Due to this, he will likely time to warm up to any new people, but if you can be patient with him, he is such a good dog and has come so far! He also circles when nervous, but this is simply a soothing technique for him, and not a neurological concern. He absolutely is not fond of cats and should not go to a home with any cats or smaller animals. He has not been around children, but should be find with older kids, provided them give him time to warm up and let him come to them on his own. He would do best with a female dog that is playful but accepting of some pushy behvaiors. He will also have arthritis in his healed leg, and would do best on supplements. We are looking for an adopter with breed experience.
