My Story

Cannoli is a quiet, low-key boy who most enjoys the quiet life. He’s the perfect companion for long walks, trips to the beach, and cuddling on the sofa in a calm home environment. Much like his namesake, Cannoli is sweet to the core, but with a little outer shell to keep him safe. He requires slow introductions to new people and things but once he’s comfortable, his goofy nature will keep you endlessly entertained. Cannoli does in fact like walks on the beach and does superb in the car. He is still trying to work up courage to like water but he is getting there. Cannoli would do best in a home with a large yard and without children or a lot of activity. He’s great with other easygoing dogs and cats, although he does prefer slow introductions and to eat his meals in the safety and comfort of his kennel. He’s a gentle soul who takes treats from people with a soft mouth. Cannoli is 4 years old, weighs about 45 pounds, and just wants to enjoy the simple things in life with his forever family. Cannoli is up-to-date on all his vaccines, he is crate trained and quite frankly LOVES his kennel. Cannoli is also potty trained and he knows basic commands like “sit”. His old soul personality will have you cracking up laughing at his faces he makes and his little run he does. If you are looking for a couch potato who loves the beach, Cannoli is your dude! PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match! For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
