Meet Canelo: The Gentle Giant Searching for Love! Introducing Canelo, a magnificent 2-3-year-old boy who's ready to capture your heart with his charm and charisma. This handsome fellow came to us as an owner surrender in March of 2023, and since then, he's been patiently waiting for a family to call his own. Canelo may be big in size, weighing in at a solid 85 pounds, but he's an even bigger sweetheart. Upon arrival, he faced some challenges with an ongoing eye condition, which required surgery to correct. Thanks to the dedicated care he received, Canelo has healed beautifully and is now on a mission to find a loving family who will cherish him forever. Canelo is the full package! He's housebroken, crate trained, and loves nothing more than frolicking around a fenced yard, playing with his favorite stuffed toys, or indulging in a good bone. He's been a social butterfly at the shelter, especially enjoying the company of other dogs. However, due to his large size, we recommend pairing him with fellow big dogs for optimal playtime fun. This gentle giant would thrive in a home with adults only, as he has a protective streak and prefers a quieter environment. He's longing for a space where he can unwind, relax, and shower his humans with all the love and affection he has to offer.
