Candy is a purebred female Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. Candy is estimated to be 2 yrs of age and she weighs 35-40 lbs. Candy has the bright crystal blue eyes and the docked tail Australian Shepherds are known for. She is sweet, though a little shy at times. She was very scared when she came to the shelter but she is now doing much better. Candy is fine with other dogs but she really prefers women to men, leading us to think she has had a run-in with a man at some point. Though she shows little aggression towards men, she will run to a woman and hide if a man tries to handle her. She could, of course, be associating all men with the Dog Warden who brought her to the shelter. Candy has beautiful blue merle markings throughout her coat and she really is very striking!
