My Story

Callie will remain in the Recovery Room until cleared for adoption. 6/5/24 UPDATE: Callie saw the neurologist on June 4th, one week post-op back surgery. After having to try to walk her with a sling, and doing leg exercises for a few days, she began using her hind legs while in the sling and then realized that she could move on her own. "No more sling", Callie said. She is doing very well and has begun to walk solo, with a little wobble to the left. She started urinating on her own as well and learning all about house training. Callie must still be kept calm for a month, no stairs allowed, while she is still healing. As I understand it can take up to 4 months for a full recovery. Thus she cannot be spayed for at least 6 months. Callie is a very sweet dog soaking up the love she is getting. She has pretty severe separation anxiety and has imprinted on me like a baby duck. Callie's history: Callie is a prior mill dog momma. On May 16th she gave birth to four beautiful and healthy puppies. On May 24, Callie began showing some neurological symptoms and could not support herself walking or standing. She was rushed to the ER in Loveland where she was evaluated and spent the night. The next day she was transferred to an ER Vet Medical Center in Parker for further evaluation by a neurologist. On May 25th. Callie had emergency surgery for a large herniated disc Your kind donations have made it possible for RMCR to help this very sweet dog.Thank you!
