My Story

A local vet has been caring for this 1 year old intact male Anatolian cross in San Luis Obispo County. The local Animal Services had found him roaming.

He was underweight and had severe infections from foxtail migration in all four paws. He just touched all of our hearts. We started feeding him up, anesthetised him and removed over 30 foxtails from draining tracts in all four feet and removed numerous embedded foxtails from his coat.

When Animal Services called to take him, we just said to leave him with us as he needed continued care for his paws. I later neutered, vaccinated and heartworm tested him and took him home for continued care.

He has healed wonderfully and is such the sweetheart. So far he is great with my dogs, doesn't bother the goats through the fence, and walks very nicely with my horse and puts up with everything that my 3 and 5 year old children dish him.

He does not like to be alone and will scratch, or climb out if he can, but if he is with our other dogs he is content.

Luis forever home would need to be a home with another dog and an active family.
