Buzz

A desperate plea for Buzz... Buzz has lived the past 12 years of his life with his beloved owner, a fellow animal rescuer and friend of ours. Buzz needs a retirement home asap! He had to go into boarding because his owner has terminal cancer and is now using a walker to get around. All 75lbs of Buzz is impossible for her to handle at this point. Her other dog has a place to go, but Buzz needs a home where he can be the only pet, or have a place to be separated from other pets. While he has lived his whole life with many other dogs, in the past year he has become a grumpy and jealous old man. That is why Buzz needs to be an only pet or with experienced dog owners. He is not outright aggressive or reactive towards other dogs, but every once in a while he will react to other dogs in the house for the most random reasons. Buzz is great with people. He's just a big goofy boy. At 13+ years old he's still got a lot of pep in his step, though he does love long naps on a cozy bed. Buzz is DEAF. We talk to him all the time anyway, but he truly can't hear a thing. He LOVES treats! LOVES THEM! Can't get enough of them. That's the key to winning his heart for sure. Overall his health is good for an old guy. His liver levels are a little elevated which is common in senior dogs and he's got supplements for that. He recently had a bump removed from his tail (you can see the shaved part in the video). He is neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccinations. He is in Biloxi, MS but transport possible to some areas for the right home. While we want Buzz out of boarding ASAP, we will not settle for anything less than a wonderful home for him. That's what he's had for the past 12 years, and that's what we want him to have for however long he has left. The dog you are considering is located in South Mississippi. We conduct virtual meet and greets for out-of-town applicants and can provide for transport (fee added to cost of adoption) to many northeastern states. At this time we are not able to transport into Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine or Rhode Island.
