My Story

Bull is about 1 year old in these pictures taken May 30, 2009 at our partner shelter in Arkansas. He is a sweet, lovable, gangly (in a teenage awkward way) boy who has a big heart. You just have to laugh and smile when you see him play. Everyone who has met him says he is a goof. Still a pup, Bull has lots of energy and loves to play. He needs some work on the leash but is smart and should catch on quickly if someone is willing to work with him. Bull is used to living with children ranging in age from 1 1/2 - 16 years old. However, because he is a little excitable at times, he does sometimes knock down the small children. Again, he just needs some manner training. Bull also lives with cats and wants to 'play' with them so bad. The cats are not interested though which so disappoints Bull. There is another dog in the house and Bull does want to play, but Dozer is a little older and really doesn't have the energy to play for long.

Bull is a little shy when he first meets people. Soon warms up though. We think this is from him being bounced around from one home to the next. He is only about 1 year old after all. AND NOW he has to go to another. The family who has Bull got him from a neighbor who was moving. Now that family needs to find him a home because they can not afford to keep him with eight (8) children to take care of. Bull weighed 43 pounds on 6/9/09 and was HW negative.

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning "pending adoption".

If this Dog is marked Urgent, it is because the Arkansas shelter where he/she resides is overfull. Please do not ask local shelters to take this dog in, there are many reasons why they cannot. Please also do not send us letters about why we euthanize, AHR does not euthanize, but the shelters we work with do. We are a rescue and we pull as many dogs as we have foster homes and funds for. We, like the shelter, do not have unlimited resources. Please, please: foster, adopt or sponsor a dog to help save their lives.

. We pay a Transportation Service from Arkansas to bring the dogs to New England. The adoption fee is $300 for dogs up to 6 months of age, $250 for dogs 7 months-5 years, and $200 for dogs 5 years and older. This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, and transport from Arkansas to Maine on a USDA approved transport with a Health Certificate. All dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to leaving Arkansas. All dogs will be tested for Heartworm prior to adoption. Almost Home Rescue will process your adoption. Applications can be found at www.almosthomerescue.net and can be e-mailed attention of Adele at lonepine_ahr@yahoo for this particular dog. Click HEREto visit our site.
