At some point in her life, Buffy was loved. She's been spayed and even had a hernia operation, indicating she had an owner who looked after her. Unfortunately, her circumstances changed, and she was found living in an abandoned house before animal control rescued her. We don't know the details of her past--perhaps she was stolen or her owner could no longer care for her. What we do know is that Buffy is ready to find a loving home for her golden years. Buffy is a vocal lady with strong opinions. She communicates with a distinctive soft growl that varies in meaning depending on the situation. Standing in front of you and growling softly? She wants to be picked up. Growling close to mealtime? She's wondering where her food is. A growl when you pick her up? It's her way of saying, "It's about time!" This quirky habit is endearing once you understand her language. However, due to past trauma, Buffy doesn't like being moved with a foot and will growl more seriously if startled this way. Buffy is partially blind in her left eye, so she needs to be approached from the right to avoid being startled. She's met cats and other dogs without much fuss, though she prefers the company of humans over other pets. Buffy enjoys sitting on your lap or by your side but also loves sunbathing or lounging on a cool floor. She's house-trained and sleeps soundly in her little bed. Buffy is looking for a peaceful retirement home where she can be the center of attention. She's not suited for homes with young children due to her poor vision and occasional grumpiness.
