ADOPTED - When we rescued Buffy, she was one of over 600 dogs that were packed together in tiny, filthy cages in a dark barn with no windows or fresh air. Amazingly, Buffy's spirit remained strong, and she is a happy, well-adjusted little dog in spite of her previous living situation. She is a purebred Cocker and she would be a great dog for someone who is looking for a "finished" polite little companion. She weighs about 30 lbs. (she never misses a meal at her foster home!) and our guess is that she is about 4 years old. While she does well with other dogs and also is fine with cats, she wouldn't mind being an "only" dog so that she could get all the attention! We do not require a fenced yard for Buffy (she walks well on a leash) but if you have a fenced-in yard, that would be an extra "plus". (please, no invisible fencing). We would prefer that Buffy not be a latchkey dog, so an adopter who works part time, is retired, or works out of his/her home would be perfect for her. Buffy is a healthy, happy dog who is fairly laid-back, so she doesn't require lots of "entertaining. We think she would enjoy a fairly quiet home, so we are looking for an adopter who doesn't have any young children. Buffy doesn't bark a lot, she loves to play ball, go for walks, and to just spend time with someone who would lavish her with love. Buffy's adoption fee is $250, and she is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on immunizations, wormed, and microchipped. (She also recently had a dentistry done, so her teeth are sparkly white and clean!) If you would like more information about Buffy, please write to Marti at:

with a short letter describing your lifestyle and family situation. In this way we can determine whether or not Buffy would be a good fit for you--and vice versa--prior to our e-mailing an adoption application to you.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
