Buddy is a truly great pup. Let us count off the ways he is good for your health:
1. Is a fantastic furry roommate.
Respects all boundaries in the home:
Knows what's his and what is not - and never, ever touches anything that is not his
No counter surfing, no digging
Trusts his people completely; no resource guarding
Knows which of his people loves snuggling and would like him on the couch with him, knows who wants to play with him, and respects those who would prefer that he not be on furniture with them
Is independent, chill and calm in the home; perfect for people who WFH.
No annoying barking
Keeps the home cleaner than his people do:
Has never gone potty in the house. Ever. Might even wonder why his humans do
Actually also likes to potty while walking on a leash, rather than in the backyard
2. Makes sure you smell the roses and appreciate life
Absolutely loves his long sniffy walks
Will help you meander along, enjoying the day
Helps protect your knees by taking you on walks rather than runs
3. Gives you all the love and affection you want - without being pushy
Loves cuddles!
Loves affection!
Never begs for it
Never forces anything upon his people
4. Reminds you to never take people for granted
Is HAPPY! LOVE! EXCITED! HAPPYHAPPYHAPPY! (insert lots of little hearts here) when new people come in.
(and when repeat visitors come too!)
Shows a type of joy when meeting people that, if everyone did the same, would make the world a much better place
And here are the reasons why Buddy should have been a human:
1. Limited vocabulary, no opposable thumbs or arms for hugging
See #4 above: HAPPYHAPPYLOVE when he gets visitors in the home! But because he can't say 'I am very happy to see you' and can't simply stand on two legs and offer a hug, he expresses his joy by jumping around enthusiastically. Very enthusiastically. He's responding well to training, but this is why he is not recommended for a home with children under the age of 15. 43 happy pounds can be a bit much for undersized or frail humans.
2. Doesn't recognize himself in a mirror
Doesn't know he's a dog. If he did, maybe he would have less of a deep dislike for other dogs. He wants to be the only dog in the home and is best when he does not meet other dogs face-to-face on walks
Buddy came from Puerto Rico and has been in a DC area foster home for a while. His fosters love him very much and want potential adopters to know this: 'Simply put, he is easy and great in the house. Buddy will be an adoring addition to a forever home! He is a tremendous pup who we will miss when he finds his forever home, but he is going to be a wonderful pup for his person or new family.'

Special Adoption Considerations: Buddy loves his people more than anything and would like to be the only pet in the home. He would do best in a home without children under the age of 15.
