Say “Hello” to four year old Buddy, a real sweetheart who’s picture-perfect handsome. At 110 pounds, Buddy is a big lovable lug of a Lab who likes to lay his big gorgeous head in your lap. Buddy could trim up a bit, but the bottom line is he’s just a big boy! He’s housetrained and crate trained, can “sit”, doesn’t jump up, comes when called and takes treats nicely. Buddy is a strong boy who likes to take the lead on walks, but does very well on a Gentle Leader. In fact he’s quite tickled to see it because he knows that means a walk is on the agenda!
A playful people-oriented Lab, he lives to be close to you and is wonderful with other dogs. He likes to play fetch and tug and enthusiastically demolish soft stuffed toys. Nylabones are best for this toy terminator! An accommodating fellow, Buddy is happy to do whatever you’re doing – if you’d like a nap, he’ll rest beside you or if you’re ready to play, so is he. “He’s such an easy housemate,” his foster mom tells us. You couldn’t ask for a nicer car companion. Oh, and he enjoys sharing a cheese sandwich with his foster dad too.
All our rescued Labs are vetted and seen by specialists if needed. Shortly after Buddy arrived, he was evaluated by our canine eye specialist who told us Buddy has progressive retinal atrophy, a genetic condition that will over time lead to blindness. We have placed quite a few Labs over the years with partial or total blindness and are happy to report they are all loved and doing extremely well in their forever homes!
Lovable, accommodating Buddy is eager to get settled and learn his way around his forever home while his vision is still good. But most of all he’s looking forward to finding, at long last, a special place in the heart of someone who truly loves and cares for him.
