My Story

I was born approximately 2/05. I am up to date on shots, neutered and have completed heartworm treatment 11/07. He is a very sweet dog who loves to play with other dogs and children and is already housebroken. Buddy has a great personality, lots of love to give and would be an asset to any family. This sweet boy, however, is what we call a "BLM", or Black Lab Mix. For some reason, BLM's are notoriously overlooked by potential adopters. Various theories have been proposed by shelters and rescue groups. 1) The facial expressions of a black dog may be harder to read; (Buddy's response: Look closely and you will see me smiling) 2) Solid black dogs aren't as eye-catching as dogs with pretty spots or patches; (Buddy's response: If you want eye-catching, look on the inside where it counts) and 3) There seems to be a black, yellow or chocolate lab mix around every corner. (Buddy's response: Most of those dogs just dug out of their back yard and are looking for fun -- I'm truly homeless).
