1/4/09: Buddy has found his forever home with Paulette R., Barkbusters trainer, in Attleboro, MA. He has completely turned around under Paulette's guidance and leadership and is doing just great! And Paulette has fallen in love with him. YAY for Buddy! YAY for Paulette!
UPDATE 12/13: Buddy was returned to the rescue 5 months after adoption because he was doing resource guarding with his family. He knows his basic commands and is generally very obedient, but he was guarding his food, sometimes his space, and sometimes his people. With time and consistency of training he is being taught not to do this. We are looking for a committed adopter willing to give him plenty of exercise and also spend 15-20 minutes a day continuing the training he has already begun.
He is now 9 months old and weighs 45 pounds or so. We recommend that he go to a home without small children and to folks with dog experience who are willing to be good leaders for this dog. He is an absolutely gorgeous, confident, affectionate dog with a beautiful, soft , fluffy coat, who will do what he is asked to do most of the time. Barkbusters training has been working with him and this prepaid training will follow him to his new home at no charge to the new adopter. His foster mom has been working with him while he is waiting for adoption and he has made a lot of progress in just a few weeks. You can see him in his video, practicing his sit/stay/'free" commands and he's doing great!!
He is being fostered in Saunderstown, RI. His adoption fee is $350
Here is the writeup of him prior to his adoption in June, 2008.
Buddy (aka Tequila) is a 10 week old yellow lab mix living his entire life with his mom and litter mates out in the the open fields and roads of TN. He was rescued and is now living with a foster family. He loves rawhide chewies, is curious about cats and has the normal activity level of a puppy.
