My Story

Hi everyone, I’m Bud! Former bait dog and future professional couch potato. I’m around 1 year old. I’m one big puppy! I love to chew all my tough chew toys and I’m learning so many things. I never really had the chance to be a puppy before, so I’m trying to make up for some lost time now. Don’t worry, my foster mom says that I’m a super smart boy and that I’ll catch up fast. I’m really food motivated, eager to please, and easily redirected. I bark to let you know that I have to go out to potty, and I’m doing amazing at crate training!! I’m still learning how to act appropriately with larger objects like dog beds and blankets. I sometimes try to hump, but I think this behavior will improve once I’m neutered. I will be neutered in July! Like any puppy, I have lots of energy. Eating and exploring are my two favorite things. My forever home will need a fenced yard as I do like to roam. Have I mentioned my foster mom takes me on lots of canal path walks? I love them and I get so many compliments about how well I’m doing at leash training. Oh and have I mentioned that I am an angel in the car? Other than that, I love to snuggle and lay on my back and get all the belly rubs! I’ve been really cute and gentle with my 8 month old human foster brother and other dogs and animals that I come into contact with, but I will require a meet and greet with other animals that I could potentially be living with to make sure that we get along. I am hopeful I could be in a home with kids or other animals, but I’m still working on building trust. What am I looking for? I would love to find a family that is committed to learning all there is to learn and know about me. Someone who will continue to work with me on my training and give me lots of tasks to keep me busy. Someone who will shower me with all of the love and snuggles and time. It’s hard to get attached to people I can’t be with forever. My foster mom says I have so much love and trust to give and I agree. Medically, I do have a low grade mast cell tumor on my back right leg. This will be removed at the same time that I’m neutered. The vet I’ve been seeing is hopeful that it will require little attention after the surgery, and that it can be easily managed after that procedure. I am fully vaccinated. I’m keeping my paws crossed that my forever family finds me soon. Bud's adoption fee is $400, which includes: his alter, a microchip, his rabies and DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.
