My Story

Say Hello to Buck! Buck found his way to Stafford County Animal Shelter after being discovered at Embrey Mill Park, still wearing a leash attached to his collar. Despite our efforts, no one stepped forward to claim him. Buck was adopted but sadly was returned due to his thinking the resident cat was lunch (he is a husky, which can possess prey drives) so now Buck is eagerly seeking his forever home. He's a spirited husky with a zest for life, ideal for a household that enjoys an active lifestyle, given his high energy and penchant for running. This charming boy loves to give hugs and is quite playful, though he may be a bit mouthy at times, he's always gentle. It's evident he was dearly loved by someone, and with some obedience training, he'll thrive even more, strengthening the bond with his new family. While we're not entirely certain as to how Buck does with other dogs, a meet-and-greet is essential to ensure harmony in the home. Prospective adopters should also familiarize themselves with the specific physical and mental needs of huskies. Buck is approximately 12 months old, with striking red and white coloring, weighing in at 62 pounds. He's microchipped and up to date on his Rabies vaccine. Because Buck is already neutered, there are no restrictions on his adoption, and individuals from any location are welcome to make him a part of their family. We appreciate your interest in adopting from Stafford County Animal Shelter. Your commitment to providing a loving home to our animals means the world to us. To facilitate a smooth adoption process, please remember to bring a photo ID with your current address or a current bill with your name and address when you visit. Feel free to drop by during our regular hours for walk-in visits. Please note that adoptions conclude 30 minutes before closing time to ensure each adoption receives the attention it deserves. Our adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 09:30 am to 4:00 pm. We are closed on Sundays and Holidays. Thank you for considering adoption and making a difference in the lives of shelter pets. We can't wait to welcome you to Stafford County Animal Shelter and assist you in finding your perfect furry companion.
