STUNNING, MIDDLE AGED PUREBRED CHOW BOY, SAID TO BE VERY SWEET BUT NOT DOING WELL IN SHELTER ENVIRONMENT and CAN ONLY BE PULLED FROM THE SHELTER BY A RESCUE GROUP NOW. RESCUES NEED FOSTERS THOUGH. Bruno is very urgent and we are looking for a chow savvy foster or foster to adopt and rescue to save him in time. Originally, we were contacted by a good Samaritan about 3 roaming purebred looking chows, two of which were caught and brought to the Corona shelter originally - Bruno and Missy. We were told these dogs are friendly and had a known owner who apparently became homeless. The two dogs were kenneled together originally due to the shelter being full, but Missy the female was quickly adopted. Following this, the third chow, also a female was found and brought to this shelter, and is available separately. It appears the dogs were used to breed. We had someone meet the first two dogs, Bruno and Missy, and sent us nice video showing they are sweet when they first came in. However, Bruno’s behavior seemed to deteriorate in the shelter after his friend left. The adopter of his female friend also said he seemed sweet as well. Sadly, we were notified on 7/15 that Bruno was made Rescue Only after he somehow escaped inside the shelter and ran into someone and the person allegedly got bit somehow. We are still trying to get the details how it happened. In the interim, we also found the original owner of all three dogs who was able to give us more information about Bruno. She said, “He is a great pet has never harmed or even attempted to be mean at anyone so that surprises me. The only thing is he is very sensitive and does not like for his back behind or tail to be touched. Yes all dogs got along just when female was in heat the two girls were dominant. I did feed them separately because sometimes they’d eat faster than others do that cause issue so I fed them separate. Not potty trained always been outdoor. Bruno also he may be larger size but when get to know him he’s a very sweet big teddy bear loves cuddles both Bruno and Kuma live belly rubs.
