My Story

Bruce is approximately 8 years old in these pictures taken February 13, 2010. He and his brother, Diego, a chi, were given up by their owner because she could no longer afford to keep them. They are very close and even sleep together in the same doggie bed. It would be wonderful if they could find a home together. But we think with a lot of love, they would get over being separated.

Bruce likes to be held and cuddled. He is quiet too. The director says she doesn't even know he is there as he rarely barks. Bruce does ok on a leash and is housebroken. He gets along with all of the dogs he has come in contact with but does seem to be frightened at all the commotion the dogs can cause. Although the former owner thinks he would do fine with children, we are recommending that he go to a home with adults only because of his age.

This is what is former owner says about Bruce:
Bruce is a sweetheart who loves to be held like a baby. He likes to sit on your let with his body right next to yours. He worships his master but also like alone time. He seems to like kids and has never bitten anyone. Bruce will be a little shy at first but with love, he will open up and love you forever. He was rescued and is now partially blind in one eye. He rarely barks and enjoys taking lots of naps.

Bruce went into the vet on February 17, 2010 to get his Rabies and be tested for Heartworms, Lyme, and Ehrlichia. He was negative and is on HW preventative. While he was there, the vet noticed that he was in dire need of a dental. Bruce had several lower teeth extracted but we can tell that he feels so much better. An old injury to his right eye means that Bruce has limited vision in that eye. The vet says that it is not causing him any problems.
