My Story

2/13/06 Due to a timing issue, Bronson has run out of time in his foster home and his foster parents can no longer keep him. He is a great dog and a loving companion but needs another foster home or forever home to go to. His last day is: 3/3/06. If you can foster him or adopt him, please contact: [email protected].

Update 2/10/06: Bronson is doing wonderfully and is being fostered in Maine. He has adjusted to human life in style and is smart, eager to please and would love his own forever companion:

From his foster Mom on 2/10: Bronson has become much more affectionate and is getting quite attached to us. He loves laying in bed and cuddling and will rest his on on the pillow next to me. When our other dog isn't around, he's quite lazy and loves to just lounge... but when the two of them are together he comes right to life and they play until they are worn right out.

He is wonderfull with other dogs, he won't bark at them or snap if the other dog steals his toy or eats from his food dish. I think he does wish to be the only dog since he loves being the center of attention, but at the same time he does well with others. He also does great around cats now. He doesn't bother them, although he still enjoys stealing their food when no one's looking.

His leash skills seem to be a little spotty. Most of the time he's gentle on the leash when I'm walking him, but when my husband walks him, he can tug a bit. When we start down the long stairs off the deck he'll go about half way down and wait for me to catch up. So he's not totally oblivious to the person on the other end of the leash. You just have to talk to him and remind him that you're there.

Bronson has good manners. He rarely barks, he does wonderfull with strangers and has many traits of a typical black lab. He just wants to play with a tennis ball and be loved. Bronson still has not been around any small children, but I think with the proper introduction, he would end up being protective of them. He's a very loving dog and he seems to want to stay really close to those around him.

Bronson does well with people he doesn't know. He will greet them, and then go do his own thing, especially if he has a tennis ball or stuffed toy. He can't get enough toys. He's constantly following me around the house with a toy in his mouth. He's such a big baby, he looks like a tough guy, but he's a giant love bug, and very loyal. Bronson will truly make a great companion. He will go to a home where Children are over 10 years, because of his size.
