Meet Brody! He is a 8-9 month old shih-tzu mix. He weighs only 10 lbs. The first thing you will notice about him is that he has an eye that is glazed over. The vet looked at it and concluded that it is an adema, which is basically scar tissue from a trauma to his eye. He is blind out of that eye, but it will not cause him long-term problems. And don't worry, it doesn't slow him down!! Brody was taken to the local shelter and tied to the front door on a holiday weekend. By the time the animal control officers came back, he was severely malnourished and dehydrated and they did not expect him to make it through the weekend. Brody has shown that he is a fighter!!! He was severely matted and someone decided to give him a homegrown haircut. So...we will take him to a groomer soon and get a more suitable look going for Brody. When he grows out he will be deliciously more handsome. Here is a before picture and of course the after pictures for the moment. He is one of the best little dogs we have EVER fostered. He is incredibly loving...when you hold him he lays his little head on your shoulder. He follows you all over the place, so a leash for him is unecessary. He has gotten along with the other dogs from the first introduction, as well as the cats. He is ALWAYS happy and has such a positive spirit about him. Just looking at him makes me smile!! He is completely vetted (neutered, rabies vaccine, distemper/parvo/corona vaccine, heartworm negative, and dewormed).This one is going to be a really tough one for our foster mom to give up! If our foster mom didn't already so many of her own...he would be HERS forever! This is a once in a lifetime 'special' dog. Don't hesitate to call us.
