My Story

Brassic Age: 5 Gender: Male Weight 50lbs Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Heartworm: Negative Energy level: Medium Brass is being fostered in Chicago Brass is a hoot! He’s an easygoing fella with a playful and inquisitive nature. Brass is the kind of dog that makes you wonder how he ever ended up homeless - he’s basically perfect. He’s being fostered in an apartment with another dog, children, and cats, and gets along splendidly with everyone. He doesn’t have any vices or weird quirks and is truly a joy to live with. He would be a great match for a first time dog family or an addition to a family with other pets. Brass happily goes into his crate when it’s time, and is generally calm and content in there. He will let you know he needs to go to the bathroom with some adorable “awoos”. Brass is always interested in meeting people and other dogs when we are out and about. He is very much a “stop and smell the roses” type on walks, and doesn’t pull on the leash at all. He’d love a home where he can take strolls through a park and roll in the grass. He accompanies me to school pickups and soaks up all the attention he can get from the kids & parents. He loves riding in the car and will hop right in when asked. Brass is learning some basic obedience cues and has so far mastered sit, wait, kennel, touch, load up, and place. He loves playing with toys, and hasn’t shown an inclination towards any sort of destruction. Brass is a great city dog - he’s mellow inside and great on walks. He doesn’t react to any of the hustle and bustle or bark at passers by and doesn’t need a ton of exercise. He would likely be a great dog to take along to a cafe or the farmers market. We have really loved living with him, and are excited for him to find his forever home!
