My Story

I’m allergic to fleas. I tell you this so you will understand why my hair is missing and my skin is irritated. Just one flea will set me off and I had many, many fleas that set up camp on my body when I was at my previous home. My previous mom and dad were separated and mom could not take me with her, so I stayed in the house with dad and he was gone A LOT, so I kind of took care of myself. Food and water was left, but I didn’t get attention, flea prevention or to go outside regularly. Thankfully I was surrendered to a foster home with CAAWS and am now getting attention, love and sleeping in the bed. My name is Brady and I am a male long haired Dachshund born 7/24/04. I am up to date on shots, heartworm negative and neutered. When I first entered my foster home, I had a really good bath which killed all the fleas that were living on me and then I got a pill to make them “stay away”. Once my skin heals from all the scratching, my hair will start to fill in. I am a very sweet, loving young man that likes to play with other pups my size. I’m doing well on my potty training and am going to make someone a very lucky pet owner.
