My Story

I am a Longhaired Chihuahua, nice caramel colour. I was found in a small wire cage, left behind a building at a race track, along with Angelina. We were both traumatized by our ordeal, it was awhile before someone discovered us, and we cannot speak of the terrors we went through. Likely we were breeding dogs who had served our purpose and were getting on and being replaced, so we were just dumped in a place where it was a miracle we were found. We were put out like garbage. We were taken in by Gerdy, HUGE trust issues. Of course! Someone will have to work with me, and because of that I need a quiet home where I am the only pet, no kids. I have come a long way but still need much more socialization than Angelina. I was not treated well, and was abused. I need a person who is not afraid of a wee challenge like me and who has a gift for helping animals in a kind knowledgeable way. I have great potential for the right person who knows how to handle a dog like me. I defend myself out of fear because that is all I have known before coming to Gerdy’s, I am improving, but am still a Work in Progress! The vet says I am about 9 1/2 years old. Neutered, vaccines, defleaed, dewormed, heartworm tested negative—please be my Guardian Angel. While both of us are good with other wee dogs, we need to work on our issues as only pets, most likely. While we were found together, we can be placed separately, emotionally we can be separated.
