My Story

ADOPTED

Boo was rescued from under a house in New Orleans. She lived under the house for 5 weeks after hurricane Katrina hit. Many rescue teams tried to get her from under the house, but none were able to get her. PAWS of Austin Rescue team was the one to finally get Boo out (see pictures on our website). Boo was in bad shape, very skinny and showed major hair loss due to contamination. Boo was cleaned up and brought to Austin for further care. After a visit to the vet we found out that Boo has Demodex Mange and she was tested Heartworm positive (like 80% of LA dogs). It was also obvious that Boo was abused and very fearful of people.

Boo was treated for Heartworms and she is now on meds for the Mange. Her hair is slowly growing back, as well as her confidence and trust in people. She is gaining weight and becoming very loving and playful. She likes laying in her comfi. bed and she enjoys playing with stuffed animals. She likes other dogs, especially little ones.

Boo need a home with someone who will love and care for her as pets should be. She must be kept indoors, she is house broken and she uses the doggie door.

If you are a caring person and you would like to give Boo the loving home she deserves, please fill out the adoption application on our website: pawsofaustin.org

Please do not fill out the application if you are not serious about adopting. If your application is received and it is approved, you should be ready, willing and able to come meet the dog. Please note, we do not ship the dogs. Adopters should be able to drive to Austin.
