My Story

Say hello to Boston, a big, lovable goofball who is as unique as his namesake! If you are looking for a loving companion who is happy to just be by your side, then look no further. Boston is content joining in on all family activities, whether that be going for a long walk or hogging the couch during movie night. Boston is a 2.5 year-old Labrador Retriever Mix and a heavyweight champ at 117 lbs. His forever home will be one that is dedicated to his weight loss and diet plan, as this big boy has a few pounds to lose! He is a very trainable pup who looks to his human for direction. Luckily, this makes him a very willing participant for all things exercise. Boston will be in tip-top shape in no-time! Long-term, Boston would do best in a home that is able to give him consistent, medium level, activity. He is a curious pup who would love access to a fenced yard, but this is not a requirement. Boston is house trained and has not had an accident since arriving at his foster home. He is even polite enough to give you a quiet ‘woof’ to let you know he’s got to go! He is also crate trained and never complains when it’s time to go to bed. He does well being left home alone but has been known to give the occasional bark or howl. For this reason, it is best that Boston’s forever home does not have shared walls. Boston’s idea of relaxation is hanging out in whatever room his people are in, chewing on his favorite Kong toy, and leaning into the occasional head scratches that he politely requests by laying his head on you. This easy going guy doesn’t mind sharing the love either. Boston currently lives with a cat and enjoys them but is largely disinterested. He has lived with a dog in his previous home and they reportedly got along very well. Boston would do well in a home with cats and/or dogs but has not been tested with other species. Boston lived with teenagers in his previous home but how he interacts with young children is unknown. Given his easy-going personality, he may do well with young children with slow and supervised interactions. Boston is ready to meet his forever home! With consistent structure and love he is sure to flourish into the best pup he is destined to be. Whoever becomes his family will feel lucky they did. https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
