BOSCO

Bosco is a male Bluetick Coonhound who is estimated at 1 year of age. Bosco came to the shelter after a family (who found him as a stray) needed help with getting him neutered and also he had an injury to his foot that appeared to have been caused by an animal trap of some sort. The family declared they loved Bosco and wanted to keep him but due to circumstances beyond their control, could not afford to have the foot surgery. The shelter kindly helped them get him neutered and also helped have his foot surgically repaired, which involved amputating 2 of his toes. Bosco was released back to his family after several days of rehab only to be found out wandering around and with an infected foot. When questioned why he was out running around, the owners claimed to not have a place to put him up so again, he was returned to the shelter but this time in hopes of finding him a new family. Bosco has recovered well from his foot surgery and you would never know he had missing toes as it doesn't affect him in the least. Another kink in Bosco's story is that another couple called and claimed to have had lost Bosco several weeks back and that he was a prized registered Bluetick Coonhound, with papers, and they wanted him back. However, upon finding out that he was now neutered and also had amputated toes, the couple slowly disappeared and no longer were interested in reclaiming Bosco it seems. Our guess is that he was no longer useful as a hunting dog to them because he was now neutered and had an injured foot so he again became dispensable. This boy deserves far better than the treatment he has received so far. He is very smart and gentle and sweet and we are hoping to find him a family where he can be loved and appreciated and he can have a family to love as well. He would provide some lucky family or person with many years of love and loyalty. Bosco is such a happy dog...in spite of his history so far. Can you give him a brighter future???
