My Story

Dear Bonnie was used for breeding all her life and was kept in a barn. She is about 5 years old now and needs a very special home. Bonnie does not know how to walk on a leash or play with other dogs or humans. Despite her background she is a kind and gentle dog who still trusts the touch of a human hand. Bonnie's ear was very infected some time ago and it was never treated. She underwent a complicated, extensive surgery to reconstruct the ear canal. She has been in foster care and has made great strides. She is learning to trust her primary caregiver and follows that person with faith. She now seems to enjoy petting and gentle stroking and sits very close to the person she knows and trusts. Bonnie is house trained, loves to sit outside in the sunshine, curl up on her favourite couch and is crate trained. We think Bonnie has made magnificent progress for a girl whose entire life has been caged and bred. We are looking for a home where someone is home at least part of the day, a house with a fenced yard and her primary caregiver should be a person who is patient, compassionate and understanding. She needs to be in quiet, not to active home so she can continue to blossom. If you are interested in knowing more about Bonnie or donating to her surgery fund, please contact Speaking of Dogs Rescue. Bonnie is a very special angel who we are committed to.
