My Story

Loves to be held in your arms. Attention starved prior to coming to rescue. She has mastered the doggy door LOVES to go in and out of the dog door all day long. She uses it to go to the restroom outside and is completely housebroken. Bonnie will go outside with her toy and throw it to herself for hours of self entertainment. She will happily give you her hamburger toy to throw. She sleeps in the human bed at night and loves to be the center of attention. She’s really enjoying being a house dog and doted on and would prefer someone that wants to hold her a lot, or let her lay on couch next to them. Bonnie lives with 2 male dogs (10 pounds, 4 pounds) and 1 female dog (20 pounds). Bonnie was Spayed 9/13/23, DHPP 9/13/23, Rabies (3yr) done 9/13/23. Microchipped. NOTE: Bonnie should go to a quiet mature home. Someone willing to give her a chance and allow her to decompress in a new environment will yield you a fabulous dog! Once she lets her guard down with you - its alllll love and snuggles and tossing of her favorite "hamburger" toy. She can be unpredictable at times with guests and people she doesn't know - (Baseball caps seem to trigger her into a barking fit and make her very nervous). She was previously abused so we would not adopt her out to a home with small/young children - She has been fostered with kids and did wonderfully with them; but they were old enough to respect boundaries and were more mature vs. rambunctious. She was fostered in a home while her primary foster family were on vacation and they had 3 small dogs and 1 German Shepherd (she was terrified of the German Shepherd) so small dogs are great but larger wont be a good fit. If you think you can be open minded to give her a fair shot, and allow a decompression period, you wont be disappointed! She isn't a run up to you and great you with kisses your first meet but with ample time (historically for her is 2-4 days) she will be a totally different dog and you will realize what gem she is! Once she likes you she will happily let you lay her on her back and hold her like a baby! PLEASE NO CALLS OR TEXTS AS WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS, COMPLETE AN APPLICATION IF INTERESTED: saveabowwow.com/rescue/adoption-form If listed, dog is available. Once dog is pending adoption, this page will reflect that information. Note: All breeds and ages are our veterinarians best educated guess (unless otherwise stated that our group has breeder paperwork) Fine Print: -All of our French bulldogs must be walked with a harness (never on a neck collar). -The rescue requires adoptive family to obtain pet insurance for coverage of congenital and hereditary conditions. This is for any of the dogs in our rescue identified as a French Bulldog or a Frenchie Mix. Adoption will be finalized once the proof of pet insurance requirement is met. (There are some great policies ranging between $28-35per month) -We have an open door policy and are always here to discuss anything that may arise with your adoptive pet. After an adoption is conducted please do not hesitate to reach out. -Please no texts or calls, apply if interested. -This breed generally speaking cannot swim and will sink like bowling balls so we do not adopt out to any homes with unfenced pools. -If you’re seeking a running or hiking companion, this is not the breed for you. These are funny, quirky, special little dogs that enjoy being with their human but tend to be lazy couch potatoes with bouts of “zoomies”.
