We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Bonnie! 3 years old, 39 lbs; spayed female; Chow Chow mix. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, Texas and can be transported out of state with an approved adopter. This friendly, loving girl has been given a second chance at life and is looking for her fur-ever home. Bonnie is such a sweetheart. She is very affectionate and loves being around her people. She wags her tail when she sees new dogs and new people. She is very friendly and playful with other dogs and picks up on cues when another dog wants to stop playing. She loves people and getting attention/love from them. Her foster parent says that she loves everybody and wants to give kisses to everyone! Bonnie had a leg injury when she was rescued but it has healed. She wasn't able to be very active during her healing process but she is now showing medium-level energy. She likely would benefit from moderate levels of activity. Though she has shown that she loves other dogs, Bonnie could be content on her own as well. Bonnie is fully house broken and crate trained. She's currently crated at night and when her foster parent leaves the house. Her foster parent noted that Bonnie hasn't tried to chew anything around the house so she could potentially be left uncrated in the future. One thing Bonnie is working on is her reaction to excitement, such as when she sees critters on walks. She walks calmly next to her person unless she sees a squirrel, bird, or rabbit. When she spots a critter she tends to pull on her leash. She can also get very excited when meeting new people and sometimes needs a reminder to wait before giving kisses. She is still gentle with people, just excited and curious! Bonnie's foster home does not have children or cats, so we have not seen how she responds to those interactions. Bonnie's foster parent shared these kind words with us: "Whoever adopts her will be very lucky... She loves everybody and loves cuddles." ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
