My Story

Bogart (Bogie) was one of a litter of 7 stray puppies brought to the Wichita Animal Shelter. They are Pyr/Shep mixes. Pals and Missouri Great Pyrenees Rescue worked together and got them into foster homes. Unfortunately, they all came down with PARVO and CIRD (a very infectious form of Kennel cough). All were aggressively treated at veterinarian clinics, but two did not survive. Bogart (formally known as Davie) became a Pals pup and is now available for adoption. The other 4 are with the Gt. Pyr Rescue of Missouri. Bogart’s foster mom says he is a delightful, sweet boy who is now about 3 months old (Aug/23). At 36 lbs, he is growing fast and will indeed be a big boy when grown. He will soon be available for adoption. Bogart or Bogie is a laid-back puppy. He is an absolute delight for a puppy. He is a little shy but very soft and gentle once he warms up to you. He loves nothing more than human attention and absolutely melts when he is petted. Bogie is house and crate trained. He loves his toys and playing with his foster siblings. He thumps around the house when playing with the other dogs which is why his nickname is “thumper” at times. Great with cats and birds. He hates the vacuum cleaner but loves his puppy pool. At times he will try to play in his water bowl, but he is getting better at leaving the water bowl alone now that he has a puppy pool. Bogie is in a foster home in Wichita, Kansas and will not be shipped. Requirements to adopt Bogie are as follows: His adopter will have to be in the Wichita Metro area or surrounding area; no out-of-state adopters because we need to do a home visit. A secure fenced yard is a must and invisible fences are not acceptable. A veterinarian reference is required showing that your present/past pets are up to date on shots, spayed/neutered and on heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $200.00.
