My Story

Meet Bodie! Bodie is a fun-loving, 2-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix, weighing about 40 lbs. He is neutered, up-to-date on all vet exams and vaccinations, heartworm negative, and has no medical or allergy issues. Bodie is looking for a new home where he can get the daily attention and exercise he needs. Living Situation: Bodie currently lives with his family, but they find it challenging to give him the attention he deserves. He would do best in a home where his owner either works from home or is retired, as he doesn't like being in a crate and has some separation anxiety. Ideally, he would have a canine companion to keep him company and help him feel less alone. Ideal Home: Bodie would thrive in an active home with a secure, visable fenced yard where he can run and play safely. He loves adventures and would enjoy multiple daily walks or runs, especially alongside his owner on bike rides. A daily trip to the dog park would be perfect for him to sniff around, run, and play fetch. Given his energetic nature, a family that can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation is ideal. Training and Behavior: Bodie is a shy but energetic young dog who is eager to please. He knows several commands, including "sit," "lay down," "go to bed," "back," and "come." He is very food-motivated, which makes training easier. However, he needs to be watched around small animals like cats, as he has a strong prey drive. He also needs some work on leash training, especially around distractions like rabbits and squirrels. Personality and Interests: Bodie is an affectionate dog who loves to be around his humans. He enjoys walks, running alongside his owner on bike rides, and chilling on a rug when not adventuring. He is a great backseat-balancer on car rides and a quiet sleeper on long trips. Bodie hasn't tried kayaking or swimming yet, but he tolerates having his feet washed and would likely enjoy water activities.
