We had our first ever dog Jasper for 2 years at this point, and I thought he might enjoy the company of another dog. Given that he looked just like Jasper in pattern and colour and needed a home, we took him in to live with us. Bodhi came to us scared of everything, soaked in pee, with worms and a swollen belly. In the beginning he was a welcomed member of the family by all. Unfortunately, as he developed my elder dog Jasper and Bodhi began to have disagreements . These issues have been scary for myself and my family and on top of feeling like I am unable to care for both dogs in a good way, I have come to decide that I need to rehome Bodhi. On top of this, I am not able to provide the training for Bodhi to be socialized with children. He has up to this point been fine with those he knows, but it has become a struggle where Bodhi has insecurities and barks at those he does not know and also when over excited tries to jump up / on kids. Bodhi is a lovely sweet spirit soul and his name represents awakening or enlightenment in Buddhism. He will give all his love and trust when bonded He is a quick learner and is very trainable. He knows how to sit, lay down, and shake a paw. He listens well, especially with snapping of fingers or clicker. He could learn a lot more with the right family and the right dedication to training. This is another large part of why I believe rehoming Bodhi is the right choice. He needs attention, love and training more than I am able to provide.  Bodhi has such a sweet and calm demeanor but when he is ready to work /play he is off the wall and it's game on!! . He loves to have someone to play / engage with and is very owner oriented to chase the ball and plays fetch wonderfully-bringing the ball right to me and dropping it. He is active ! And a fast runner and so he would be perfect as a running buddy . When he is in play mode He has a tendency to want to play the " dart and chase me game " when he sees people, other dogs, or animals. This has been experienced in secure off leash areas . With the struggles between the boys , I know that my elder dog has some Learning challenges, but I also know that Bodhi can then be at risk for learning unhealthy behaviours. He is somewhat of an Adventurous to check e everything out which can lead to unwanted freedone, if there is a way out he will find it- doors.  He has not seemed to jump the 4ft fence in my backyard, but the 2ft one that my other dog never attempted to jump he hopped right over which many dogs would. He has a tendency at this time to struggle with the odd accident in the house, #1 and #2. Not every time, and I am not sure if it is behavioural or if it is the timing in which I feed him/take him. I thought that once he was neutered my elder dog and him would stop having the marking contests in the house, but so far that has not stopped.  Bodhi is good with other dogs, though he has not been exposed to a tonne of other dogs as I have been too afraid to have both dogs in a dog park or a setting where they can both interact with different dogs. I'm sure he would do fine with a more confident / knowledgeable owner. This has been an extremely hard decision as Bodhi is such a beautiful dog, and deserves more. I am hoping that with rescue help, can find him his forever home.
