Bodhi (FKA Bo)- COME MEET ME!

Bodhi is is currently in MA, and approved applicants can make an appointment to meet him at a convenient time. Bodhi is a 3 year old hound mix. He came from the South, where he was neglected by his owner, and left out, tied up out to a tree. Bodhi is in MA, and currently living with a foster/ trainer. Bodhi loves to be with his people, and his foster says that he is one of the most intelligent and obedient dogs he has come across. He walks nicely on a leash, knows basic commands, is eager to please, gets along with the other dogs in the home, rides well in a car. He loves learning, training, structure and having a job to do. All of this has boosted Bodhi’s confidence. He still has some leash reactivity in new and unfamiliar situations, and can become overstimulated if he is rushed into these. He has been introduced and socialized with many new people and dogs, and never had an issue when done properly. Bodhi is an energetic dog, and requires both mental stimulation and physical activity to tire him out. He loves to hike, run and play with other dogs. He always has a smile on his face after a nice run. He is crate trained and housebroken. He can live in a home with cats or dogs. Bodhi is a quick learner, eager to please. With enough training, Bodhi could be an incredibly competitive sport dog. His trainer thinks he could pass the Canine Good Citizen test quite easily as he continues his training. . Bodhi will make an incredibly loyal and intelligent companion. Bodhi should be placed in a home with an experienced owner, who is committed to continue and keep up his training, provide structure and leadership. Forever Home Rescue will provide a few training sessions to support Bodhi’s transition. UPDATE: Recently, Bodhi spent a few weeks in a different foster home with 5 other dogs to see how he would do. And he did GREAT!! Loves all people, fine with children. He is incredibly intelligent and obedient. He just needs his right person or family. Bodhi is a wonderful boy. We are so proud of how far he has come. Because Bodhi has been waiting awhile for a home, we are waiving his adoption fee in hopes of helping him find a home for him.
