Bobby

Bobby is a very friendly little guy who came to us from the Nebraska Humane Society. He was very scared and unsure about his surroundings at the dog shelter, so they asked us to take him. In a private home setting he has been perfectly fine, and adjusted very quickly. Bobby is roughly 5-7 years old, and he has limited sight due to cataracts and PRA (a geneic eye disease). He still goes up and down stairs and jumps on and off furniture fine. Both of his eyes do have some sight, and rescue is looking in to how this guy can be helped further to hopefully regain his sight. Dr. Walter said the cataracts are not well defined & he can see a little, both pupils are reactive to light. However, he will go fully blind over time due to the PRA. He is friendly little guy and is a good watch dog. He loved his bath, sat in the sink with no trouble and will let you know if he has to go outside. He is a good eater and good in the cage, very nice little guy. When he was at the Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha, he was described this way to us, but he has proven to be completely opposite of what they have had to say... "On a behavioral note, the dog is a "freak". It is a challenge to hold him. He tries to escape from your arms. He literally bounced himself off my chest and fell flat on the floor (poor guy!) The techs had a hard time holding him too. He moves about the room fine until he bumps into something. He curls himself up tight in his blanket." Since he has been in a private foster home Bobby has been so well behaved, and his foster home has absolutely loved him. He got along great at the playday, and was sniffing and playing with the other dogs. He is a true champion that doesn't know his sight is limited. Bobby is being fostered in Omaha.
