My Story

Bluebonnet is a 4 months old blue Great Dane puppy. She was rescued from the Ft. Hood military shelter. She was picked up as a stray and nobody came to reclaim her.

After having her for one day, Bluebonnet got very sick. She was taken to the vet clinic and was diagnosed with Parvo.

Obviously this pup came from an irresponsible breeder who failed to give her the necessary vaccinations. And even if they gave her the first vaccine, they adopted her to a moron who did not take her to the vet for the additional vaccinations, nor came looking for her when she was out as a stray.

These irresponsible people and their failure to provide necessary care to innocent puppies could have cost this puppy her life.

Luckily for Bluebonnet, her foster mom recognized the symptoms early and she was rushed to the vet and immediately put on IV and antibiotics. Bluebonnet made a quick recovery, but of course, it cost us a bunch.

Bluebonnet is now back at her foster home. She will be kept there for 3 weeks, until she is no longer contagious.

UPDATE 4/17/09: Bluebonnet had made a full recovery. She went on a trial adoption last week and her adoption will be finalized this weekend.
