My Story

Bluebird A166520 44 lb. spayed female, approx 1 1/2 years old - A little timid to start - Once you get down on her level and she gets more comfortable she gets playful and does some zoomies - Loves to wedge her whole body up underneath your legs while you’re on the floor with her. Wiggles and excitement. She’s a trip! - Just need some confidence but overall is a very good girl - Give some kisses - Will eat some treats here and there but not motivated by them - Not sure what toys are all about at the moment - Usually lays down when asked to sit - Once she gets more comfortable she will jump up on your lap for more pets - Walks well on a leash - Loud noises make her nervous, but she recovers quickly (maybe a low traffic home for this girl) - She shows moments of playfulness and silliness. So she’s definitely got it in her. - Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids. Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm. The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing. 1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
