Bluebell

If you want a face covered in puppy kisses, Bluebell is your girl! Bluebell is a 4.5-month-old lovebug who is always eager for attention. She loves cuddles and will never turn down some playtime with her favorite people. She is a confident girl who knows no strangers and is ready for lots of adventure with her new family! Bluebell currently weighs around 40lbs and likely will be at least 70lbs when fully grown. Bluebell was born in foster care with her 8 sisters after her mom, Daffodil, was found as a pregnant stray. An owner never came forward, so the puppies were born in foster care and separated into foster homes as pairs when weaned. One of Bluebell's sisters was DNA tested and the results came back as German shepherd, Australian shepherd, and American bully. Bluebell is a smart girl who has already learned to sit. She is looking for an active family who can provide her with lots of daily exercise and mental enrichment. She has been doing great learning all her basic manners and her new family will need to be dedicated to continuing her training and socialization. Due to her size, Bluebell would do best with a family that has large dog experience. Bluebell currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and she would love another playful medium/large dog in her new home. She also could do well as an only child with lots of opportunities for socialization with other dogs. Bluebell lives with cats in her foster home and could do well living with dog-savvy cats in her new home with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Bluebell lives with an older kid and could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Bluebell is pretty much housetrained, but she is still learning and her new family will need to be consistent about taking her outside. She has done well being crated overnight and when home alone. She hasn't spent too much time by herself, so she would need a family who can slowly get her acclimated to being home alone. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
