Blaze
Adopted
Breed
Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler
Blaze
is a happy, playful youngster who loves to please his human and enjoys learning how. Although he's a typical bouncy, clumsy pup now, he will probably mature into a mellow, easy-going dog.
He was one of a litter of nine puppies born around
Christmas of 2009 and abandoned near a busy intersection in Pasco. His mom looked like a small Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix. We really have no idea what dad might have been, but based on Blaze's coloring and markings we're guessing there's some Red Heeler in the mix, and possibly some sort of bully breed. We expect him to grow to around 60-65 lbs.
Blaze loves to play with a ball, tug ropes and other toys. With the advent of warmer weather, he has also discovered the delights of the water hose. He is energetic and confident, and when playtime is over he turns into a big teddy bear who loves best to crawl into someone's lap for a snooze.
His foster mom has started introducing him to basic obedience. He is learning to walk on a leash, to sit, and to come on command, and she says he's a fast learner.
