My Story

Let me introduce you to my friend, Blair. Blair was found several months back by our friends at All 4s Rescue League in Memphis. She was lying in a ditch, grossly underweight, with a broken front leg and a very severe, infected wound from being struck by a car. She was taken to the vet, where discussion was had about amputating her broken and wounded leg. It was decided to first try and give her leg a chance to heal. She went to a foster home when she was stable enough to leave the hospital. She was a model patient for her foster mom, and to everybody's relief, the open wound began to close, and her bone began to heal. She walks fine on her front leg and bears weight on it, but if she picks up speed, she will still limp on it. She needs no ongoing medical care or medications, but a good joint supplement will be helpful to keep any arthritis at bay. She has now been released from vet care and crate confinement and is ready to start her new life! She gets very excited at mealtime and is VERY food motivated. She will bounce around with excitement and run through the house with glee to go outside. Once outside, she loves to lounge in the sun and watch the world go by and will let you know when she is ready to return inside to check out the dog bed or see what foster mom is up to. She loves "babies" (aka stuffed dog toys) but loves them a little too much sometimes, and they soon meet their demise. Given her injury history, we think it is best she go to a home with either no children or children 12 and above. She lives in a foster home with other dogs, but because of her confinement status, interactions with the other dogs have been limited, but she has shown no aggression toward them. With proper slow introductions, she would likely do fine with a low-key companion of similar age and activity level. At this writing, she has not been cat tested as she has just been released to activity, so her bio will be updated when she can be tested. So what is on Blair's Bucket List for her happily ever after? A quiet home with maybe another chill dog who enjoys canine companionship. And treats, All the treats! If you have a backyard and are looking for a sweet friend who would love nothing more than to lay by your feet and enjoy the good life, Blair is your girl. All she needs now is a family to call her own!
