My Story

I am a very beautiful full blooded chocolate lab. I was surrendered to the shelter by my owner-twice. He didn't want to do it but really did not have a choice. Mom was diagnosed with cancer and he no longer could care for us both, he came back after 4 weeks and tried to take me home again, but then Mom got worse again. I really miss my family and would love to find another one very quick! If you could help provide me with a good loving home, please call the shelter immediately! I want out of here!!!! Bishop is a very happy dog with alot of energy that would love to go hiking and camping, he is VERY good with kids, even 3 year olds. He came to the shelter heartworm negative, but contracted heartworm at the shelter. BUT, since he JUST got it, he should not have to go through treatment. He has been started on preventative and if you continue it year round, the preventative will take care of him and he should be negative within a year. And he is NOT contagious while on preventative. He is on the euthanasia list due to the length of time he has been there. ############################################### 6/26/05: THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING FOR A SHELTER THAT WILL BE EUTHANIZING THIS WEEK !! YES, they euthanize puppies!!!!!These animals are in dire need of homes, if you cannot provide a home, sponsors & fosters are needed for heartworm treatment for some of them. Even just fostering a healthy dog will help save lives!!!!************For more information on this particular dog: Please email: [email protected] for the shelter or to fill out an application for this dog, please go to: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/ME52.html#adopt ******[email protected] for Susanna with Dogs Deserve Better can help with the adoption process & transportation until 7/9/05 when I get back from vacation.
