BIO: Hi there, my name is Bishop. I was purchased from a breeder and given to my former owner as a Father's Day present. I was surrendered to rescue because my family had to move and were unable to take me with them. I know and obey the normal commands. I am housetrained, get along fine with older children and adults and I walk well on a leash. I can be stubborn and strong willed, but will do as asked. I am looking for a family that will love and cherish me and that is looking for a lifelong companion. Regretfully I was not kept up to date on my vaccinations and not given heartworm preventative. On my birthday (when I was supposed to be vaccinated and neutered by the rescue's vet) I tested positive for heartworm. I have already received my heartworm treatments and had to be kept quiet for a month and retested before they could proceed with my vaccinations and having me neutered. When I went in to be neutered the vets discovered that due to the heartworm treatments my vision is now compromised. I am not blind - I just can't see as well as I did prior to the treatments. I just know there has to be someone out there with a compassionate heart that would overlook my problem. I am now UTD on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and ready to be welcomed into your loving arms. You must have a completely fenced and secure yard in order to adopt me.
